AGMASCOSkagerrak Field Campaign, September 1996The gravity field in the area includes several geologically distinct anomalies due to salt domes and volcanoes and are covered with high quality marine and land gravity data. It is therefore a very suitable area for testing the accuracy and resolution of the airborne gravity system. Some of the profiles followed Topex/Poseidon and ERS2 ground tracks and were flown almost simultaneous with the satellite pass to evaluate the combined performance of GPS and altimeter.
The Polar4 a Dornier 228 owned by Alfred Wegner Institute in Bremerhaven was employed for the campaign.
